IS MY VAPE JUICE EXPIRED?
It turns that expiration date on your vape juice might not be as important as you think according to FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and FSIS (Food Safety and Inspection Service. Some of the bottles you purchase may have dates printed on the label or bottle itself with a tag like “expired by” or “used by” but there are no federal laws that require these dates. These dates is entirely at the discretion of the manufacturer. However, FDA does state that consumables must be wholesome and fit for consumption. If a product is dangerous to consumers it is subject to action from the FDA regardless of the date on the bottle.
FSIS states that these dates are just an indication of a product’s quality and not its safety. Expiration dates on E-liquid is slightly different from fresh food dates. E-liquid is a shelf stable product as it is less likely to react with its environment so it is longer lasting.
SO HOW LONG CAN I STORE MY E-LIQUIDS?
Shelf life varies from each e-liquid based on how it is stored. Being that e-liquid is a shelf stable product, it takes a much longer time to go bad than let’s say fresh foods. Vape juices can last between one to two years if stored correctly.
You will notice storing E-Liquids for long periods of time will diminish the quality of the juice. For example, the quality of flavor maybe lower and/or nicotine potency may drop but keep in mind this does not necessarily mean the e-liquid is unsafe. It’s just not as fresh as the first day you purchased it.
HOW DO I STORE MY E-LIQUID FOR BEST LIFESPAN?
All E-Liquids is best stored in a cool and dark place. Do not keep it in your car or near your room window where it is exposed to direct sunlight or heat. This may cause the e-liquid to lose its quality much faster. Keeping the vape juice just below room temperature is ideal.
